Tangible Encounters

Project Description

I incorporates soft sculpture and layered plane photographic surfaces to reflect the fluidity of the body, the complexity of self-identity, and Otherness. Stems from my emigration and feminine experience, I use found objects and discarded materials I collect from my surroundings as my subject to speak to people’s physical and psychological experiences. Through the playful use of image intertwining with materiality and space, my work fluctuates between construction and deconstruction, fiction and reality, in two and three dimensions, to evoke the audience’s longing for touch and revalue the one-time use of materials into a bodily and otherworldly representation.
